Frequently asked questions

DuoPrompt is a teleprompter app for iPhone that scrolls your script as you speak and pauses when you stop. It was built for iPhone Duo: stand the phone half-folded on a table and the script sits on the top half, right under the camera, while the record button and controls sit on the bottom half.

Yes. Half-fold your iPhone Duo, stand it on a desk, and open a script in DuoPrompt. The app detects the fold, puts your script on the half with the camera so your eyes stay near the lens, and moves the controls to the other half, away from the crease.

A voice-activated teleprompter listens to you read and scrolls the script to match your voice instead of scrolling at a fixed speed. DuoPrompt highlights each word as you say it, keeps up if you skip a word or ad-lib, and waits when you pause, so you never chase the text or wait for it.

Yes. DuoPrompt runs on any iPhone with iOS 26 or later. On a regular iPhone you get the same voice-follow prompter in a full-screen or split layout, and on iPhone Duo it adds fold-aware tabletop mode.

Yes. DuoPrompt Pro streams your front camera and mic to YouTube, Twitch, TikTok or any RTMP server while your script stays on your screen. It can also show a lower third, logo, callout or QR code, either when you tap it or automatically from a cue in your script.

No. DuoPrompt never sends your voice to us. Voice-follow uses Apple's speech recognition and requires on-device processing on iPhones that support it, so your audio stays on your phone. Your scripts are stored on your phone too, and DuoPrompt doesn't require an account.

DuoPrompt is free to download. DuoPrompt Pro is $9.99 per month and removes every limit. New users are also offered a one-time $97 lifetime license during setup. That offer appears only once, at the end of onboarding.

The free version includes the manual-scroll teleprompter, the iPhone Duo tabletop layout, the camera preview, and 3 voice-follow recordings to try the hands-free mode. Free accounts hold 3 scripts, takes stop at 60 seconds, and saved videos carry a small "Made with DuoPrompt" watermark.

No. DuoPrompt (one word) is a voice-activated teleprompter for iPhone and iPhone Duo. Prompter Duo is an unrelated iPad prompter app from another developer.

Yes. DuoPrompt records with the front camera while you read and saves each take straight to your Photos library. Pro takes have no time limit and no watermark.

Yes. Choose "Glass teleprompter rig" during setup, or turn on Mirror text in Settings, and DuoPrompt flips the script horizontally so it reads correctly in a beam-splitter glass.

Start a line with ## followed by a name, like "## Hook" or "## Call to action". DuoPrompt shows each section in a progress bar while you record, and you can tap a section to jump to it.

Voice-follow supports English at launch. The manual-scroll teleprompter works with scripts in any language.

Not yet. Remote control from Apple Watch and Bluetooth clickers is on the roadmap for DuoPrompt Pro. With voice-follow on, most people find they don't need a remote at all.
