What makes a teleprompter “foldable-ready”?
Most teleprompter apps were designed for a flat slab of glass. On a foldable they either stretch across the crease or sit in a box with black bars around it. A foldable-ready prompter does three things:
- Knows the posture. DuoPrompt listens to the hinge and switches to its split layout the moment you half-fold the phone.
- Respects the crease. The split is measured from where iOS reports the fold, so no text and no button ever sits on it.
- Follows the camera. The script always lands on the half with the front camera, whichever way the phone is turned.
Built on Apple's iPhone Duo APIs
DuoPrompt is built with the iOS 27.1 SDK, so it fills the whole inner display instead of running in compatibility mode with black borders. It uses the fold position Apple reports to place the split, not a guess at the middle of the screen.
Most people ruin a cast iron pan in the first week.

Three ways to hold a foldable while you read
Half-folded on a table (best for talking-head video)
Stand the phone up like a tiny laptop. Script up top under the lens, record button and speed controls on the bottom. This is the layout DuoPrompt was designed around.
Fully open on a tripod
Use the full 7.6-inch inner screen for bigger text when the phone is mounted farther away. Voice-follow still scrolls for you, so you don't need to reach the screen.
Closed, like any iPhone
The outer screen works as a regular phone prompter for quick takes on the go.

Do I need a stand or tripod to use a foldable as a teleprompter?
No. A half-folded iPhone Duo stands on a desk by itself. A stack of books to raise it to eye level helps, but no mount or tripod is needed.
Does DuoPrompt work when the foldable is fully open or closed?
Yes. Fully open, DuoPrompt uses the large inner screen. Closed, it works on the outer screen like any iPhone. The split tabletop layout turns on automatically when the hinge is partly open.
Does DuoPrompt work on Samsung Galaxy Z Fold or other Android foldables?
No. DuoPrompt is an iPhone app. It runs on iPhone Duo and every iPhone with iOS 26 or later.
