iPhone Duo

Turn your iPhone Duo into a teleprompter.

Yes, you can use iPhone Duo as a teleprompter. Half-fold it on a desk and DuoPrompt puts your script on the half with the front camera and your controls on the half lying flat, then scrolls the words as you speak.

Why a foldable makes a better teleprompter

On a regular phone, the script and the camera fight for the same spot. You end up reading from the middle of the screen while the lens sits at the top, and viewers can tell your eyes are elsewhere.

A half-folded iPhone Duo stands on its own like a tiny laptop. The upright half holds the camera, so text placed right beneath it keeps your gaze close to the lens. The flat half becomes a control panel you can reach without touching the part being filmed.

What DuoPrompt does with the fold

  • Detects tabletop posture. When the hinge is partly open, DuoPrompt switches to its split layout automatically.
  • Splits on the real crease. The layout is measured from where iOS reports the fold, so nothing you tap sits on it.
  • Follows the camera. The script always goes on whichever half holds the front camera.
  • Works in any orientation. The camera preview and your recording stay level however the phone is turned.

How to use iPhone Duo as a teleprompter

About three minutes from download to first take.

  1. 01

    Install DuoPrompt and run setup

Download DuoPrompt from the App Store. Setup takes about a minute: read one line aloud to try voice-follow, then a short paragraph so the app learns your speaking pace.

  2. 02

    Choose "Half-folded on a table"

When setup asks how you record, pick the tabletop option. You can change it later in Settings.

  3. 03

    Open or paste a script

Pick a starter template or paste your own. Lines that start with ## become sections, like Hook or Call to action.

  4. 04

Half-fold your iPhone Duo and stand it up

Fold the phone partway and set it on a desk facing you. DuoPrompt detects the fold and splits the screen on the crease: the script moves to the half with the front camera, the controls to the half lying flat.

  5. 05

    Tap record and start talking

Each word lights up as you say it. Pause and the script waits; skip a word and it catches up. Tap stop and the take is saved to Photos.

Tips for better takes on iPhone Duo

  • Set the phone at eye level on a stack of books. Looking slightly up at the lens is more flattering than looking down.
  • Keep the top half fairly upright so the camera faces you square on.
  • Read a line or two out loud before recording. The mic meter under the script confirms DuoPrompt can hear you.
  • Split long scripts into sections with ## so you can jump back to the hook for a retake.

Don't have an iPhone Duo?

DuoPrompt works on every iPhone running iOS 26 or later. You get the same voice-activated teleprompter in a full-screen or split layout.
